Job Description

Job Title: Geotechnical Engineering Intern / Co-op - Summer 2025. Location: Miami, FL, US, 33131. Langan is seeking a **Geotechnical Engineering Intern / Co-op** for its Miami, FL office to support technical aspects of geotechnical projects, ranging from small to large scale. Working directly with geotechnical leadership, this role offers exposure to site feasibility studies, fieldwork, technical report preparation, pre-construction documentation, and design plans.

Responsibilities:  

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations, including boring and test pit logging, sample collection, and field data recording.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction to ensure compliance with construction documents (plans/specifications).
• Identify and address field and laboratory problems.
• Prepare standard logs and field forms, such as drilling and test pit logs and daily investigation records.
• Conduct file reviews, site reconnaissance, and document searches.
• Perform calculations, and learn to perform engineering analyses using geotechnical engineering software.
• Create report exhibits, figures, and plans in AutoCAD.
• Document field investigations and analytical results in reports.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

Qualifications:  

• Currently pursuing a 4-year or advanced degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; coursework in geotechnical preferred.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Effective in independent and team environments.
• Reliable transportation for job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
