Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer. Location: London, GB, W1W 8BF. Langan International UK is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join its expanding team in London. This role involves planning, executing, and interpreting geotechnical investigations, primarily in the UK and Middle East, with opportunities to support US teams.

Job Responsibilities:  

• Plan, specify, and execute field investigations, including laboratory testing scheduling.
• Solve routine & complex field/lab issues.
• Review contractor records, drilling logs, test pit logs, and laboratory reports.
• Design shallow & deep foundation systems, ground improvements, and slope stability solutions.
• Prepare Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Interpretive Reports based on site investigation data.
• Assist with design tasks for foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Help prepare proposals, scopes of work, and fee structures.
• Conduct desk studies and site reconnaissance.
• Use AutoCAD for design work.
• Be open to international travel as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills, particularly in technical report preparation.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical & multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently & collaboratively in a team.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license preferred.
