Field Service Engineer - Atmosphere

Job Description

Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Atmosphere. Fully Remote • Rockford, IL • Field Service. The Atmosphere product line is manufactured in Germany, and this position will provide field service support for these products primarily within the United States. Responsibilities include installation, startup of new equipment, upgrading existing equipment, troubleshooting technical problems, and performing scheduled maintenance and calibration services. The role requires building strong relationships with customers through effective service and promoting additional Ipsen services. Occasional travel to Germany for training may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Install and start up new or modify existing equipment at customer sites.
• Provide on-site technical assistance for troubleshooting, tests, modernizations, and repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of site visits and service reports.
• Provide training to operators at customer sites.
• Book travel and submit expense reports promptly.
• Work safely and complete required safety training (customer/Ipsen).

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of safety policies & protocols; OSHA 10 or 30 training preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot, read project drawings/schematics.
• Ability to travel up to 90% domestically/internationally.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Siemens PLC knowledge preferred; Allen Bradley or other PLC systems welcome.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision required.

Education and Experience:  

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or related certifications/apprenticeship training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of related technical experience required.
• Experience with atmospheric furnace heat-treating equipment is preferred.
