Health & Safety Manager

Job Description

Reporting To: Head - QHSE, Veolia India Pvt. Ltd

Your role will be to manage and implement Veolia’s Environment, Health, and Safety policies and guidelines, ensuring the safety of all employees and contract workforce at all times. This position also has a dotted-line reporting to the Head of the entity/project within the assigned area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation of Veolia’s Occupational Health and Safety policies and management guidelines.

Define, follow-up, and review H&S action plans.

Ensure the compliance of O&M Services with OH&S standards (national and group), legislation, and contractual requirements.

Analyze performance achievements related to OH&S and recommend procedural changes when necessary.

Report H&S key performance indicators (Monthly, Quarterly, and Annually).

Organize and perform audits, regular site inspection visits.

Identify training needs related to occupational health, safety, and environment and implement them. Organize awareness programs and workshops to foster a positive safety culture.

Manage workplace accidents: conduct investigations, root cause analysis, and develop preventive action plans.

Maintain and update documentary databases: HAZOP, HIRA, PTWs, JSA, and prevention plans. Ensure operational teams maintain risk assessment documents and prevention plans, along with specific operating procedures.

Qualifications:

Essential:

Graduate in Environment, Health & Safety sector or related field.

Postgraduate in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH/IOSH or related certifications.

Total experience, preferably in the municipal water sector: > 10 years.

Senior management experience: > 5 years.

Additional Information:

Personal Attributes:

Strong interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels.

Fluency in English and preferably the local language.

Project management and organizational skills for coordinating team work.

Computer literacy, especially Excel, G-Suite, Microsoft Project, and the ability to learn new tools.

Good report writing and presentation skills.
