Job Description
Position: R&D Pilot Operator Intern
The R&D Pilot Operator Intern supports the Technology Team by maintaining process testing systems and aiding in the validation of new products at pilot and full-scale customer sites.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct tests for water and wastewater products, including monitoring, documentation, chemical dosing, and inspections.
- Perform and document analytical laboratory tests to characterize process water samples.
- Maintain and modify fluid system components (PVC piping, valves, pumps) and calibrate instruments.
- Collaborate with suppliers for component procurement and manage billing and invoicing.
- Provide on-call and weekend support for the testing facility.
- Act as a backup for the Oakville pilot operator.
- Ensure safe and efficient operations by contributing to health and safety, maintenance, and improvement activities.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience Required:
- Pursuing a diploma or degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering/Technology, or related field focused on water/wastewater treatment.
- Valid Ontario G2 or G class driver’s license.
Preferred:
- Experience with water/wastewater treatment, especially membrane products and processes.
- Knowledge of fluid systems (piping, pumps, valves) and P&ID drawings.
- Experience with laboratory methods for water/wastewater analysis.
Other Useful Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills. Motivated learner, able to take on new tasks and learn new skills. Self-motivated, capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks with changing priorities.
