Associate, Renewable Development

Job Description

Job Title: Associate, Renewable Development. Location: Montreal, QC. As an Associate in Renewable Development, you’ll support large-scale solar, storage, & wind projects across Canada. You’ll assist with all stages of project development, including site control, permitting, and community engagement.

Responsibilities:  

• Drive wind, solar, and storage project developments within Québec & Atlantic Canada.
• Conduct market assessments, site reconnaissance, and identify development opportunities.
• Formulate competitive pricing strategies and oversee resource evaluations.
• Secure site control by negotiating land agreements (leases, easements) with property owners.
• Monitor power market trends and lead landowner communications.
• Lead in obtaining local, provincial, and federal permits.
• Represent Invenergy in stakeholder interactions, including customers, landowners, and officials.
• Initiate & manage interconnection activities.
• Support project budgeting & scheduling, ensuring coordination within budget and timelines.  

Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 2+ years’ experience in renewable or clean energy sectors.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 30-50%.
• Proficient in English for regular communication with anglophone stakeholders.
• Eligible to work in Canada without future visa sponsorship needs.  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of energy project development, real estate, transmission, & engineering.
• Experience in land, environmental, permitting, or project development.
• Strong skills in organization, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
