Job Description

Job Title: Project Estimator - Renewable Engineering & Project Management. Location: Chicago, IL. As a Project Estimator within the Estimating team, you will be responsible for evaluating the construction & capital costs of wind, solar, & energy storage projects. This role is located on-site at Invenergy’s Chicago headquarters.

Responsibilities:

• Develop full engineering, procurement, & construction costs for utility-scale renewable projects.  
• Analyze historical costs to identify trends & improve estimating methods.  
• Build new tools & procedures to enhance Invenergy’s project estimation processes.  
• Foster relationships with third-party contractors to gain insights on best practices.  
• Visit prospective project sites to align cost estimates with conditions like topography, site accessibility, & infrastructure.  
• Collaborate with internal teams & key contractors on cost estimates.  
• Evaluate contractor proposals to ensure alignment with client expectations.  
• Assess project budgets from preconstruction through project closeout.  
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in wind, solar, & storage project estimating.

Qualifications:  

• 3+ years of experience in construction, estimating, or engineering within the energy industry.  
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.  
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.  
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without employer visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience in solar project construction, estimating, or engineering.  
• Familiarity with estimating software like Procore, RSMeans, CAD, or GIS tools.  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Project, Word, PowerPoint).  
• Experience with data analysis related to construction costs or forecasting.  
• Ability to manage multiple projects & tasks simultaneously.
