Lead Sustainability Specialist

Job Description

Job Title: Lead Sustainability Specialist. Location: St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5AD. Support the Head of Sustainability in developing and managing SP Energy Networks' environmental and sustainability strategy. You'll drive environmental and social considerations into all business processes and lead collaborations and innovation projects to enhance sustainability.

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Delivery:

 - Support the Head of Sustainability in monitoring and delivering the sustainability strategy.

 - Manage internal sustainability support for compliance with RIIO2 and RIIO3 commitments.

 - Deliver change projects to improve sustainability performance and reputation.

Stakeholder Engagement:

 - Organize and facilitate internal and external engagement to meet strategic goals.

 - Lead and participate in working groups on sustainability issues, collaborating with external stakeholders.

Project Management:

 - Identify and address gaps in sustainability performance.

 - Propose and manage pilot projects or innovation proposals to resolve sustainability issues.

 - Coordinate with Future Networks and innovation teams to implement sustainable solutions.

Training and Awareness:

 - Develop and deliver training and coaching for management to embed responsible business practices.

 - Establish a network of Sustainability Ambassadors to drive sustainable practices across the organization.

Qualification:

• Degree in Environmental discipline, with a Postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Membership of IEMA or CEnv.
• Experience in developing teams and setting strategic directions in the utility environment.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the UK.
