Manager, Community Affairs

Job Description

Job Title: Manager, Community Affairs. Location: Home Office (IA); Denver, CO; Chicago, IL. Invenergy is committed to driving innovation in energy. At Invenergy, we develop, build, own, and operate energy solutions.  

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Invenergy in meetings with county/municipal officials, local taxing bodies, landowners, and state stakeholders, as well as public meetings hosted by the project.
  • Articulate the project benefits to community members.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to obtain necessary county and municipal project approvals.
  • Develop and implement a structured community relations program to support Invenergy’s projects, establishing Invenergy as a responsible corporate citizen.
  • Coordinate with Invenergy’s Communications and Impact teams to ensure alignment with company priorities.
  • Monitor local project opposition, building relationships to address or mitigate concerns.
  • Coordinate closely with Government Affairs for outreach at local, State, and Federal levels.
  • Oversee project tasks per budget and schedule, organizing internal and external technical support when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in economic or real estate project development, or policy in renewable and clean energy.
  • Valid Driver's License; ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with political and stakeholder engagement, ideally in rural areas.
  • Knowledge of energy project development, real estate, or power project engineering.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in writing concise reports.
