Job Description

Job Purpose: Managing Material Quality

Principal Accountabilities:

Review & approve supplier documents, MQP, type tests, and inspection reports for steel coils, module mounting structures, transmission tower structures, various conductors for transmission, construction steel, robotic cleaning systems, etc.

Inspect and test the above items by self and through TPIAs.

Conduct, coordinate, and plan supplier/factory audits, product inspections, and proto testing.

Perform supplier assessments and maintain and update the approved vendor list.

Prepare MQPs.

Validate RCAs and bring improvements.

Qualifications Required: B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Work Experience Required: 8 to 16 years.

Specific Skills Required:

Auditing

Documentation

Supplier assessment

Good knowledge of steel specifications, IS standards, steel testing, special coated steels, galvanization process, HDG, and SS fasteners.

Knowledge of steel sheet forming, punching, MMS manufacturing, and ICPs.

Knowledge of transmission tower types, grades, and RSJ poles.
