Job Description
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is seeking a Power Converter Control & Software Engineer to join our Glasgow city center offices. This role involves developing new control systems for large multi-megawatt wind turbines, collaborating with experienced engineers across the UK, Denmark, and globally. As part of a small local team, you will participate in specifying, implementing, testing, and deploying power converter control systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement new control features following software quality and test processes.
Review relevant requirements, standards, and documentation to understand engineering requirements.
Occasionally perform remote site investigations and troubleshooting for electrical systems worldwide.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
Bachelor’s degree with a significant focus on electrical and electronic engineering.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges.
Qualifications and Experience
These positions are suitable for recently qualified graduate engineers or experienced engineers at all levels with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Power electronic converter design and control.
Control theory and its application.
Time and/or frequency domain modeling using MATLAB Simulink, RSCAD, Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS).
Power electronic drives, vector current control, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).
3-phase power systems analysis.
Grid forming control systems and power system simulation.
Real-time embedded control and implementation.
Software engineering.
