Senior Inspection Technician

Job Description

Position: NDT Inspector with Rope Access. Location: Aberdeen, Offshore. To perform a range of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection techniques on components, pipework, and structural assemblies to ensure they meet specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Perform NDT inspections using both conventional and digital equipment.
• Utilize Rope Access capabilities for inspections at height.
• Conduct rope access inspections safely, taking regular breaks in harsh environments.
• Perform function tests on NDT equipment and report any faults to the supervisor.
• Evaluate test results according to applicable specifications.
• Produce clear and concise reports detailing inspection methods and findings, noting any limitations or restrictions.
• Ensure accurate labeling and secure packaging of returned equipment.
• Carry out risk assessments as required.
• Adhere to Oceaneering operating procedures, statutory, client specifications, and Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems.
• Undertake additional duties as required by Management.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Plant inspection qualification.
• 10 years of in-service plant NDT experience offshore, or formal engineering education in lieu of up to 4 years of experience.
• Successful completion of "in-service inspection for corrosion and erosion training using UT" (PCN ISI GEN).
• Competency in inspection for CUI per Energy Institute CUI 1.
• Ability to read isometric and PID drawings, use digital cameras, and computer-based reporting systems.
• Capability to perform insulation removal/reinstatement on non-metallic clad insulation systems.
• Capability for minor coating repairs.
• PCN Level 2 or CSWIP Visual Inspection.
• PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing.
• IRATA L1 (minimum).
• Offshore Survival / Offshore Medical / M.I.S.T / Cat A E.B.S / Bi-Deltoid Measurement / Eye Test.
