Job Description

Job Title: Vessel Electronics Technician. Location: Morgan City, Louisiana (Onshore/Offshore Operations). As a Vessel Electronics Technician, you will design, develop, & manage the installation of ship machinery & related equipment, including propulsion systems & power supply.

Responsibilities:  

• Prepare detailed drawings, schematics, & system layouts.  
• Inspect marine equipment to create job specifications.  
• Conduct studies to develop designs for marine engines, equipment, & structures.  
• Oversee testing, installation, & repair of marine equipment.  
• Prepare estimates, schedules, & contract specifications.  
• Investigate machinery tests for standards compliance.  
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies to ensure cost-effective repairs.  
• Prepare technical reports for internal use & client communications.

Qualifications: 

• Degree in a technical/engineering field or equivalent experience.  
• 2-3 years offshore vessel (OSV) experience.  
• Merchant Mariner’s Document (Z-card).  
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel).  
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED. Security clearance.

Additional Information:  

This is an offshore position, with exposure to: Outdoors/indoors, day/night work. High humidity, noise, intense light/glare. Potential exposure to flames, sparks, fumes, & gases. Confined spaces, elevated work surfaces, & heavy machinery.

Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting (25-50 lbs), use of PPE, climbing, standing, & walking. Occasional lifting (50-100 lbs), crawling, kneeling, & repetitive movements.
