Wind Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Wind Technician. Location: Lowville, NY. As a Wind Technician, you'll be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Number Three Wind Energy Center, a 105.9 MW facility utilizing GE 2.3 116 and Vestas V150 turbines.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance: Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines and associated equipment.
• Inspection: Climb wind turbine towers daily to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment, wearing all required safety gear.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults; repair or replace components as needed.
• Site Upkeep: Maintain company tooling and equipment, and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
• Schedule: Work a standard 40-hour week with potential for scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Work schedules may vary during peak maintenance periods.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or related technical education.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights exceeding 80 meters (250 feet). Must be able to move and handle up to 100 pounds. Weight must not exceed 265 pounds, excluding equipment.
• License: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
• Drug Testing: Conditional offers are subject to drug testing, with a negative result required to start work.
