Accounting Lead, Global Energy Management

Job Description

Position: Senior Accounting Lead, Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS). Location: Melbourne, Australia

Responsibilities:

• Manage financial reporting for GEMS ANZ, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Provide technical accounting advice and ensure compliance for wholesale energy trading.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance financial reporting processes and controls.
• Engage with key stakeholders to support decision-making and business-wide initiatives;
• Monitor and advise on energy derivative products, ensuring correct accounting treatment;
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations related to energy markets.

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting (CA Qualified or equivalent).
• Experience with commodity and energy derivative products and associated accounting practices.
• Proven background in financial reporting and controls;
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to influence and support business decisions.
