Geologist

Job Description

Job Title: Geologist. Experience: 4 years minimum. Location: Long Beach, CA

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage field-based tasks of environmental investigation & remediation programs.
• Oversee & lead well installation and sampling tasks, ensuring effective communication with project managers.
• Conduct project management tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and scope development.
• Perform data management, evaluation, and report writing for environmental investigation & closure reports.
• Interpret & record data, conduct analyses, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Travel to project locations as needed, including overnight stays.
• Foster a collaborative team environment and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, geological sciences, or hydrogeology.
• 4+ years of experience in environmental consulting, including field-sampling procedures, soil boring, monitoring well installations, and remediation data interpretation.
• U.S. Citizenship & a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass Federal Background Check for DoD project sites & Southern California refineries.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate.
• Experience with environmental drilling techniques & local regulatory agencies.
• Current OSHA certifications (40-hour HAZWOPER, 10/30-hour Construction).
• Knowledge of RCRA/CERCLA processes.
• Task or project management experience; proposal writing is a plus.

• Offered compensation ranges from $85,000 to $110,000, based on location & qualifications.
• This position is not eligible for relocation or work authorization sponsorship.
