Job Description

Job Title: Senior Commercial / Market Analyst, Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS). Location: Melbourne, Australia

• Developing and presenting economic and portfolio analysis to support structured transactions.
• Monitoring market developments and portfolio performance;
• Modelling the impact of transactions on portfolio performance;
• Providing insights for risk management solutions within renewable energy sectors, including wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Responsibilities:

• Lead the analysis and reporting of renewable energy and market data to support origination activities.
• Model economic value and assess portfolio impact for renewable energy transactions.
• Provide critical market insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Assist with the development of market access services for renewable energy products;
• Monitor market conditions and changes in the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM);

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in energy market analysis, trading analysis, or a similar commercial role within the wholesale Australian electricity sector (NEM).
• Strong commercial acumen in thermal, hybrid, renewable, or storage sectors;
• Experience with Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), wind, and solar power stations is advantageous;
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to diverse audiences.
