Job Description

Job Title: Associate, Renewable Development. Location: Central Scotland, United Kingdom. As an Associate, Renewable Development at Invenergy, you will be responsible for managing grid connection processes and designs for utility-scale renewable energy projects and energy storage in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The role requires a strategic approach to grid capacity identification, project design, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, particularly with network companies (DNOs, TOs, and the SO).

Responsibilities:

  • Grid Capacity Identification: Identify grid capacity for renewable energy projects.
  • Grid Connection Management: Deliver grid connection packages throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Support: Assist the development team with project design, procurement, and feasibility studies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, including grid liabilities and curtailment risks.
  • Contractor Management: Oversee the work of electrical and grid connection contractors and licensed providers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary interface with network companies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Corporate Presentations: Prepare and support investment committee presentations for key development approvals.
  • Task Coordination: Manage competing tasks within budget and schedule constraints, coordinating internal and external technical support.
  • Budget & Program Management: Deliver projects on budget and on schedule, with strong problem-solving skills.

Required Experience:

  • Grid Connections Expertise: Demonstrable experience in delivering distribution and transmission grid connections.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the energy sector.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of grid connection processes, regulations, and policy evolution.
  • Industry Relationships: Established relationships within the energy industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience working with DNOs, TOs, and the SO; network analysis; and power systems understanding.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness in the context of renewable energy projects.
  • Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
