Development Engineer - Subsea Engineering

Job Description

Under limited supervision, this role is responsible for leading individual product development projects to support growth across various segments within Distribution hardware, Pipeline connectors, and the standard product line.

LOCATION

This role offers a hybrid work environment, with the opportunity to work both remotely and in the office as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

• Meet development project requirements including timelines, cost, quality, design-for-manufacturing, design-for-sourcing, and other objectives.

• Design, test, and evaluate concept designs using engineering principles and techniques.

• Manage assigned projects and provide guidance to less experienced engineers as needed.

• Write and/or review technical proposals, equipment evaluations, and sourcing documents.

• Interface with customers and other project managers (both internal and external) and provide engineering status and progress reports.

• Prepare technical procedures (e.g., factory acceptance test, qualification testing procedures) and technical specifications (Functional Design spec, FMECA, datasheet, etc.).

• Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, applicable standards (ISO, API, ANSI), contract requirements, and related specifications.

• Ensure all designs use compatible materials and components, considering manufacturing requirements.

• Perform design reviews and presentations with internal and external customers.

• Work effectively both within a team and independently.

• Provide guidance to less experienced team members.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Subsea Engineering (or a related engineering discipline).

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.

• Minimum of 5 years of working knowledge of Solidworks or AutoCAD and Enovia or similar Product Life Management (PLM) system.

• Minimum of 5 years of applying Engineering Fundamentals, including structures, hydraulics, and pressure vessels.

• Minimum of 3 years' experience with the product development life cycle.

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in subsea engineering (subsea systems, subsea tooling, or subsea intervention).

DESIRED

• An MSc in engineering or chartered engineering status.

• Experience with FEED study and the ability to create the Engineering concept.

• Ability to work in a team environment, remain attentive to ideas, recognize responsibilities, and actively participate with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business needs.
