Dive Operations Specialist

Job Description

Job Title: Dive Operations Specialist. Location: Clear Lake, Texas

Responsibilities:

• Perform SCUBA diving operations (up to 25 hours/week) to support NASA astronaut training for Extra Vehicular Activity (EVA).
• Serve as a Topside Monitor, Hoist Operator, Float Video Diver, and Safety Diver during training missions.
• Assist in commercial diving operations as needed;
• Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and lift bags.
• Conduct basic fabrication and repair of mockups and systems.
• Fill pressurized cylinders and maintain diving equipment;
• Perform facility maintenance and clean-up (both in and out of the water).
• Complete administrative tasks such as timecards, emails, and meetings.

Qualifications:

• Nationally recognized SCUBA Certification (e.g., NAUI, PADI).
• Minimum 25 logged dives.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a related field OR equivalent technical/military training.
• Military or commercial diving license with advanced training.
• Experience with mechanical or electrical systems.
• Background in underwater video and photography.
• SCUBA repair, maintenance, and assembly experience.
