Job Description
Job Title: Electrical Engineering Internship. Location: Cherry Valley, IL • Engineering. Job Type: Internship (On-site) Must reside within a maximum commutable distance of 1 hour of Cherry Valley, IL to be considered. Exciting summer internship opportunity for students currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering degree program to learn from industry leaders! Our interns will leave their assignment with an increased awareness and knowledge in their field of study that can be applied to their future opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Under supervision, successfully completes entry- to intermediate-level projects, tasks, or assignments.
- Undertakes and/or participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization.
- Interacts directly with internal or external colleagues or customers in the planning of assignments and the completion of assigned tasks.
- Enthusiastically receives guidance, training, and mentoring from professional personnel.
- As appropriate to the position and as specified by unit management, conducts original research and prepares reports based on findings, including recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Provides an end-of-internship presentation to the management team on key learnings, project summaries, and knowledge gained.
- Assists department team members with tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow complex and detailed instructions.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to use department-specific software (e.g., CRM, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, HRIS).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be entering into Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year of college at an accredited college or university.
- Completion of related coursework for assigned department or function to successfully complete assigned projects or tasks.
Physical/Environmental Factors:
- Regularly required to sit and use hands and finger dexterity.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 10-20 pounds.
- Regularly requires close vision, hearing, and talking.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels while in the office.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and wet/humid conditions in manufacturing areas.
