Electrical Technician - Quality

Job Description

The Quality Control Technician ensures new equipment performs correctly and meets contractual specifications. They are responsible for inspecting, documenting, and verifying equipment before shipment or Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).

Responsibilities:

Equipment Inspection: Safely inspect large two-door control cabinets while power is on, using electrical prints.

Documentation: Maintain and accurately complete ISO forms and documentation related to Quality Control.

Order Processing: Cross-reference sales orders and spec sheets, compile data, and process orders. Perform inspections of new parts, program them, and create packing slips.

Troubleshooting: Resolve issues in collaboration with engineering, production control, project management, and production.

Communication: Read and respond to supplier and intercompany emails promptly.

Travel: Up to 10% travel to customer sites for troubleshooting.

Knowledge, Skills:

Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain accurate records and files.

Technical Skills: Read and use electrical prints and mechanical blueprints, use a voltmeter, program VFDs, and connect to PLCs.

Troubleshooting: Experience in troubleshooting industrial equipment.

Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic math operations.

Safety: Ability to work safely with 480/120-volt AC & 24-volt DC systems.

Education and Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced education or technical training preferred.

Experience: Prior experience with electrical systems and industrial maintenance is required.

Physical/Visual/Mental/Environmental Factors: Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, use hands, and finger dexterity; occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 25 pounds. Visual/Mental Demands: Regularly requires close vision, hearing, and talking. Work Environment: Regular exposure to loud noise and moving mechanical parts.
