Job Description

Job Title: Solar Technical Specialist - USA (Remote). As a Solar Technical Specialist, you will support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of solar and battery storage projects across North America. You'll ensure optimal design and functionality of assets while providing technical training to field technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced technical support for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar and battery equipment.
• Lead training programs focused on electrical systems, condition monitoring, and repair for field technicians.
• Collaborate with field teams to develop reliability-based maintenance plans for solar and battery storage assets.
• Assist in project commissioning and start-up, ensuring long-term asset serviceability.
• Create and review technical documentation, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis, Asset Criticality Analysis, and Failure Mode & Effect Analysis.

What You Bring:

• Expertise in Medium & High Voltage three-phase power systems, AC/DC power systems, and inverters.
• Strong skills in troubleshooting and repairing power plant equipment.
• Familiarity with power plant test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and thermography tools.
• Technical understanding of solar and battery systems with a preference for certifications in related fields.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 60% and internationally up to 5%.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or Technical Certificate in Electrical Systems, or a licensed journeyman electrician.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in utility-scale (10+ MWac) solar projects.
• FAA Section 107 certification to pilot drones within 1 year of employment.
• Experience with reliability-based maintenance technologies is highly preferred.
