Job Description

Position: Energy and Renewables Originator. Location: Leeds  

Role Overview:  

• Develop, negotiate, and implement contracts for purchasing electricity, gas, and green certificates.  
• Drive business development and account management to achieve budgeted export margins.  
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing business partners.  
• Originate and propose Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other deals, ensuring compliance with internal processes.  
• Work with ENGIE Legal to tailor contracts and review terms.  
• Build financial models for investment appraisal and support product development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Development: Establish and nurture relationships with potential partners and customers.  
• Account Management: Maintain and develop existing customer relationships; organize and attend meetings and events.  
• Portfolio Building: Originate and propose Power, Gas, and Renewable Certificates deals.  
• Contract Development: Work with the legal team to tailor contracts and review terms.  
• Investment Appraisal: Build models to forecast margins and spend levels.  
• Process Improvement: Ensure efficiency of internal processes.  
• Product Development: Assist in developing market-leading Export Products and PPAs.

Requirements:

• Experience: Sales or deal negotiation experience, preferably in the energy industry.  
• Skills: Contract development, financial modeling, and risk management.  
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of UK Energy markets and renewable energy legislation.  
• Education: Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.  
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills to present high-value contracts.
