Engineer- Manufacturing I (1st Shift)

Job Description

Job Title: Engineer - Manufacturing I (1st Shift). Location: New Iberia, LA, United States

Responsibilities:

• Install and qualify new process equipment to support production operations.
• Troubleshoot & resolve equipment and manufacturing issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Conduct data analysis and design experiments to improve throughput, yield, and product performance.
• Maintain equipment gauges, update process control plans, and enforce standard operating procedures.
• Train and mentor engineering technicians and production associates on equipment and processes.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, specifications, and drawings;
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement corrective actions;
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and protocols on the production floor.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Associate’s Degree in engineering or technical field + 3+ years of manufacturing experience OR
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D. in engineering (experience preferred but not mandatory);
  • Equivalent certifications (e.g., Journeyman Machinist or Electrician) with 5–10 years of technical expertise.
• Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of statistical data analysis, SPC, DOE, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as vacuum deposition, laser systems, robotics, or PLC programming.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and training skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
