Environment, Health, & Safety Sr. Manager

Job Description

Position: HSE Sr. Manager. Location: Windsor, CO. As the HSE Manager, you'll lead Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs for Vestas Blades sites, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. You'll drive safety culture, manage HSE strategy, and oversee the implementation of standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., Title V, RCRA, EPCRA).
  • Safety Culture: Foster a no-harm safety culture using human performance principles and operational learning.
  • Governance: Develop and execute multi-year HSE strategies aligned with regional and global plans.
  • Relationships: Build collaborative relationships with regional and global manufacturing and HSE leaders, as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Team Management: Lead, develop, and mentor a team of HSE specialists.
  • Incident Tracking: Track hazards and incidents to improve HSE governance.
  • Certification: Facilitate ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, including audits and management system deployment.
  • Auditing: Oversee internal auditing and assurance programs.
  • Training: Support and oversee safety training programs to enhance safety culture and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years of experience in Manufacturing or a related field as a Health and Safety Manager.
  • Certifications: CSP/CRSP/GSP/CIH/CHMM preferred.
  • Experience: Familiarity with international HSE standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and general industry requirements.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to audit and monitor global, federal, and local standards.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of manufacturing and system functions; risk assessment, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Competencies:

  • Analysis: Conduct root cause analyses and develop corrective/preventive action plans.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal analysts on workers’ compensation and safety management.
  • Communication: Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, travel within the Americas and internationally (<10%).
  • Physical Demands: Stand, walk, use hands, and wear required PPE; work in environments with chemicals and materials.
