Environmental Compliance & Strategy (Transmission)

Job Description

As Manager on the Environmental Compliance & Strategy (ECS) team at Invenergy, you will oversee federal and state environmental permitting and compliance strategies for Phase 2 of the Grain Belt Express Transmission Project in Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise ECS Project Director on environmental compliance strategy and risk management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to minimize environmental impacts.
  • Manage environmental consultants and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead agency meetings and maintain project records for regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and enforce project-specific control documents and protocols.
  • Support responses to environmental inquiries for project contracting and financing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, environmental science, or related field.
  • Project management experience in environmental planning for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • 5+ years in linear infrastructure with similar responsibilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret environmental data and identify project risks.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance in Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Online and Google Earth for spatial data interpretation.
