Job Description
Geosyntec is offering an internship opportunity for an Environmental Engineering Intern/Co-Op to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations while gaining business skills for a consulting career. This role is ideal for students looking to enhance their practical experience in environmental engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Support: Assist with engineering calculations using technical tools.
- Technical Writing: Draft reports, letters, memoranda, plans, and specifications.
- Data Management: Input and analyze data, prepare maps, tables, and figures.
- Collaboration: Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, administrative staff, and construction personnel.
- Fieldwork: Potentially engage in soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, and oversight of drilling and contractors.
- Local Travel: Drive to project sites as needed.
Education and Licensure:
- Required: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in a relevant discipline.
- Preferred: Focus in environmental, civil, geotechnical, or water resources engineering.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Experience with ArcView, CADD, and Microsoft Office.
- Required: Strong academic credentials, exceptional communication skills (oral and written), and problem-solving abilities.
- Driver’s License: Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
Location: Kennesaw, GA
Duration: Approximately 13-15 weeks during Fall 2024
