Environmental / Health / Safety Manager

Job Description

This role collaborates with operations, field service, and human resources to strategize, direct, and implement the organization’s health, safety, and environmental compliance programs, ensuring a secure, healthy, and accident-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute programs and policies to monitor and prevent physical and biological hazards across various locations, including Cherry Valley, Pecatonica, Souderton, and field service sites.

Conduct field assessments, safety evaluations, and hazardous waste evaluations.

Maintain material data sheets, monitor equipment, and recommend control measures for hazardous materials or conditions.

Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes.

Plan and enforce safety policies and procedures in adherence to local, state, and federal OSHA regulations.

Ensure comprehensive training on worksite safety practices, fire prevention, and equipment handling for managers and employees.

Inspect organization facilities to identify and address accident and health hazards, implementing corrective or preventative measures as needed.

Lead investigations into accidents and injuries, assisting in the preparation of materials for hearings, lawsuits, and insurance inquiries.

Compile and submit accident reports to regulatory agencies.

Collaborate with facility Safety Committee(s) to address concerns.

Develop and deliver health and safety training for workers.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with various levels within the organization.

Proficiency in OSHA regulations.

Strong IT skills, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and ERP systems.

Professionalism in interactions with employees, management, and external parties.

Ability to thrive in a demanding environment and manage competing priorities.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong problem-solving, influencing, and creative thinking skills.

Integrity and ethical standards.

Willingness to travel as required.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a related field such as business management, occupational health & safety, or operations management.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing or related industrial operations.

Prior leadership experience preferred.

Completion of OSHA 10- or 30-hour training is desirable.
