Environmental Health & Safety Technician

Job Description

The Environmental Health & Safety Technician coordinates site activities to ensure Production, Maintenance, and other shop floor operations comply with EHS and Compliance guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide EHS input to Plant Manager.

Lead, support, and manage plant-wide environmental, health, and safety programs.

Facilitate integration between business teams and the EHS group.

Collaborate with production, maintenance, and management teams to foster positive relationships.

Integrate safety, employee health, and environmental concerns into business operations.

Assist in developing and executing EHS annual plans and framework validations.

Provide technical resources and analyze EHS data to interpret regulations.

Guide shop floor activities to align with EHS and compliance standards.

Create, review, and educate on SRA's (Safety Risk Assessments) and procedures.

Conduct audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Community College/University Safety Program graduate or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years of recent EHS professional experience.

At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing environments, lean manufacturing, and six sigma.

Strong team building, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to effectively interface with all levels within and outside the company.

Demonstrated program management ability.

Experience at a VPP star worksite.

Advanced analytical and Root Cause determination skills.
