Job Description

Langan is seeking an Environmental Permitting & Compliance Intern/Co-op for its Houston, TX team. This role involves supporting multimedia compliance and permitting projects, technical report writing, preparing calculations and regulatory reports, permit applications, and on-site inspections.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing permits and compliance programs for air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, spill prevention, storage tanks, EPCRA (Tier II, TRI).

Support air projects with emissions calculations, permit preparation, regulatory research, and compliance tasks.

Review multi-media environmental compliance audits, gap assessments, inspections, and program reviews.

Assist in preparing monitoring and spill prevention plans/programs (SPCC, FRP, SWPPP, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans, etc.).

Prepare technical documents including reports, plans/programs, and permit applications.

Create templates for various reports and plans.

Conduct field support at client sites including inspections, sample collection, and on-call support.

Perform other field and office duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Actively pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Ability to work independently and in a team.

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and related software.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
