Job Title: Principal – Site Investigation & Remediation. Primary Location: AU-Sydney. Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec’s culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you’d work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management.
Some of the key responsibilities for this position include:
- Project direction, including planning and overseeing investigation and remediation projects, groundwater treatment design, troubleshooting and optimization of treatment systems, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
- Management and mentoring of junior to mid-level staff.
- Work plan development and report writing including CEnvP- SC support.
- Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Reviewing and managing written document production.
- Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.

Training: This position requires white card, asbestos awareness, and first aid training, paid for by the firm. Education & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field. (required)
- Postgraduate qualifications. (preferred)
- Certified Environmental Practitioner – Site Contamination. (required)
- A minimum of 10 years (15+ preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience in the Sydney marketplace; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Detailed understanding of National and State regulations and guidelines. (required)
- Strong financial acumen. (required)
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. (required)
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
- Successful business development track record. (required)
- Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
- Proven leadership skills. (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
