Position: HSE Advisor
Company: Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE)
The HSE Advisor will coordinate with SGRE's internal workforce and external contractors to ensure a safe system of work is in place and adhered to. This role ensures compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation, SGRE standards, and customer/site requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SGRE site management team in discharging their duties in line with SGRE procedures and local legal regulations.
- Monitor site emergency preparedness readiness.
- Ensure effective pre-job planning by SGRE and contractors.
- Promote and use Enablon for safety observations and proactive inspections.
- Follow up on safety observation reports, ensuring proportionate investigation and effective implementation of corrective/preventative actions.
- Coordinate with action owners to achieve timely close-out of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
- Analyze safety observations and address identified trends through awareness schemes or appropriate actions.
- Participate in planning/coordination meetings to ensure safe interfacing of works with other site operations.
- Communicate HSE focus topics from the general SGRE business to all stakeholders on the worksite.
- Perform frequent site safety walks and formal inspections.
- Collaborate with technical functions and other HSE team members to share learnings and develop best practices.
- Participate in HSE audits and assessments, both internal and external.
Qualifications:
- Passion for renewable energy and a commitment to leading change.
- Recognized HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate in UK/NEBOSH International General Certificate).
- Several years of experience in an HSE role within the Wind Turbine Construction/Maintenance industry.
- Desired higher-level professional HSE qualification (e.g., NVQ5/NVQ6/Degree or postgraduate diploma).
- Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.
- High motivation level; self-starter with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with various office and cloud-based software.
- Field-based role requiring rotational shifts.
- Ability to work Offshore and comfortable with working at height.
- Preferred Skills: GWO (Global Wind Organization) Training Package.
- Experience in HSE incident case management (e.g., TapRooT RCA method) is an advantage.
