Job Description
This role is dedicated to Coastal Virginia Offshore based in Virginia Beach, VA. The HSE Manager in Service supports sales and project activities, modeling and mentoring offshore Service teams for HSE excellence and a positive culture. The role includes developing Offshore Service project HSE processes and competencies, with potential offshore upskilling at SGRE Fleet wind farms.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure a safe work environment through preventive methods and expert support.
Enable high-quality delivery via preventive planning and verification.
Provide transparency of QM&HSE performance.
Share lessons learned and best practices to enhance safety at the CVOW site.
Lead safety onshore, on Service Operations Vessels (SOV), in turbines, and at Wind Farms—ensuring accurate reporting of incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Ensure compliance with SGRE standards and U.S. legislation related to EHS, Quality, and Service delivery.
Report incidents and unsafe conditions promptly.
Potential relocation provided.
Work in compliance with HSE Manager in Service role duties per HSE Roles and Responsibilities, Offshore HSE Project Manual (INS 19966), and SGRE HSE Management System.
Assist Site Management Team in defining and managing project-specific HSE Plans.
Oversee IMS and legal compliance in HSE matters within project scope.
Prepare projects for execution and audits.
Identify applicable HSE regulations and incorporate into project plans and budgets.
Establish HSE targets, KPIs, and report monthly performance.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Demonstrable operational EHS knowledge, domestic and international HSE legislation, and industry standards.
Project management skills; basic project management techniques (Siemens PM level 4 or equivalent).
Understanding of auditing techniques and methodology; Lead Auditor qualification (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 45001).
Resource management skills for coordinating HSE resources.
Incident investigation skills and corrective/preventive action identification.
Technical understanding of Siemens Wind Turbine technology (preferred).
Significant hazards in Offshore Wind Industry and mitigation methods (preferred).
Minimum 3 years’ experience in operational HSE.
Experience in coordinating/leading operational teams.
Coaching, mentoring, and influencing skills.
Legal authorization for employment in the United States.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in safety from ABET-accredited institution. 5+ years in safety role as titled safety professional; CSP or CHST designation. OSHA 500 certification.
