HV Operations Specialist

Job Description

Job location is Lowestoft , UK.

Salary is £50,351 to £62,939 + Up to 10% Bonus + Single Health Cover.

Scottish Power Renewables is a pioneer in the renewables industry, driving innovation with ambitious plans for offshore wind farms in East Anglia and managing over 40 operational wind farms from our Control Centre at Whitelee Windfarm, near Glasgow.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead and implement SPR safety culture and values to maximize offshore H&S performance.

Gain Senior Authorized Person (SAP) and Control Person authorization up to 220KV (potential future projects up to 400KV) under SPR ESRs.

Optimize site availability through effective outage planning and management.

Manage authorization of competent persons under IBR HVSRs.

Perform SAP role for voltages between 66kV and 220kV.

Ensure compliance with local management instructions, codes of practice, and HVSRs.

Prepare switching schedules and oversee HV switching, isolation, and safety documentation up to 220kV (potential future projects up to 400kV).

Conduct site risk assessments and review contractor risk assessments and method statements.

Supervise equipment OEMs and contractors for electrical maintenance.

Prepare maintenance reports and support Deputy Site Manager in equipment service and maintenance.

What You’ll Bring:

Senior Authorized Person (SAP) under DNO/NGET/Power Generating company safety rules.

Experience in HV Electrical Maintenance in Offshore Wind or similar industry.

Practical experience managing industrial HV and LV systems.

Working knowledge of SCADA systems.

Willingness to work at heights, offshore, and travel within the UK and Europe.

Flexible approach to working hours and availability for emergency response.
