Instrumentation and Controls Technician

Job Description

The Instrumentation and Controls Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, services, and calibrates instruments at the Anaerobic Digester (ADF) facility and other Edmonton Waste Management Centre (EWMC) sites. They adhere to SOPs and permitting, achieving safety, productivity, and quality KPIs. Responsibilities include mentoring apprentices, overseeing maintenance tasks, and performing On-Call duties. The role operates within a COR certified environment, complying with regulatory standards and 24/7 operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Promotes safety and complies with health and safety policies.

Builds effective relationships and resolves conflicts.

Upholds quality standards and confidentiality.

Manages and calibrates plant instruments.

Troubleshoots and repairs instrumentation.

Supports upgrades and projects as needed.

Performs scheduled PMs and maintains work logs.

Adheres to regulatory and operational requirements.

Qualifications:

Journeyman Instrumentation and Controls Technician with apprenticeship certification.

Preferably dual-ticketed with electrician certification.

Minimum 2 years' industry experience and familiarity with CMMS.

Strong customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and in team environments.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and willingness to work varied shifts.

Involves Safety Sensitive duties in a plant environment.

Requires physical agility and adherence to safety protocols.

Includes exposure to industrial hazards and use of PPE.

May require On-Call duties and overtime as needed.
