Manager, Renewable Development

Job Description

Job Title: Manager, Renewable Development. Location: Denver, CO or Chicago, IL. As a Manager, Renewable Development, you’ll oversee the development of utility-scale wind, solar, and storage projects across the Southern U.S. This role is located in our Chicago or Denver office.  

Responsibilities: 

• Lead U.S.-based wind, solar, and storage energy projects.
• Manage projects in various development stages, aligning with company strategy.
• Identify new development opportunities via market assessments, site evaluations, & initial reconnaissance.
• Secure site control by negotiating leases, easements, & other agreements with landowners.
• Coordinate communications with landowners & stakeholders.
• Obtain required permits at the local, state, & federal levels.
• Represent Invenergy in interactions with customers, landowners, & officials.
• Oversee generation interconnection activities & project design.
• Assist with budgeting & scheduling, coordinating technical support as needed.

Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 4+ years of experience in renewable energy or related fields.
• Valid driver’s license & eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel (approximately 25%).  

Preferred Skills:  

• Bachelor’s in Business or Engineering; Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
• Experience managing wind & solar energy projects.
• Strong organizational, networking, leadership, & time management skills.
• Public speaking, report writing, & accounting skills.
• Knowledge of solar project development, real estate, & power project engineering.
