Assembly Mechanic - 1st Shift. Location: Souderton, PA

The Assembly Mechanic coordinates activities to effectively lay out work, set up machines or equipment, and meet assembly demands per design specifications and published schedules. This role emphasizes efficient resource utilization to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Operate power tools and equipment, including band saws, table saws, manual hand brakes, drills, and grinders.
- Work with various materials, including felt insulation, ceramic, graphite, carbon fiber, molybdenum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
- Document processes, issues, and material usage or excess.
- Communicate effectively with team leaders and supervisors.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area daily.
- Accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting blueprints and instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and supervisors.
- Competence in basic mathematics, geometry, and measurements.
- Ability to apply logical problem-solving skills to various instructions and tasks.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant assembly experience or equivalent training.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Forklift experience preferred; forklift and overhead crane certification is an advantage.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Stand for up to 10 hours daily.
- Perform frequent hand use and arm reach; occasionally climb, kneel, or crouch.
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Work with close, distance, and color vision; adjust focus as needed.
- Exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, dust, carbon, and airborne particles requiring respiratory protection.
- Regular exposure to loud environments requiring hearing protection.
- Use of eye and foot protection is mandatory.
