Field Service Engineer II

Job Description

Job Title: Field Service Engineer. Location: Fully Remote • Seattle, WA • Field Service. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting technical issues, performing scheduled maintenance, and calibration services. This role ensures first-class service performance, including quality execution, speed of repair, and professional customer interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to heat treatment equipment at customer sites.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations efficiently and effectively.
  • Document all service jobs and report potential warranty claims.
  • Promote up-/cross-selling opportunities for services at customer sites.
  • Prepare necessary tools, spare parts, and materials for successful service execution.
  • Act as the primary contact for customers with service contracts.
  • Plan and schedule service assignments in collaboration with the HUB Lead.
  • Accurately log hours worked and job assignments in the time & attendance system.
  • Submit expense reports promptly for approval.
  • Follow all Ipsen safety protocols and work practices diligently.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of heat treatment industry and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in computer operations (e.g., MS Office, ERP, CRM systems).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong service orientation.
  • Professional appearance and ability to represent Ipsen positively.
  • Ability to travel extensively and meet the Ipsen travel policy requirements.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial equipment operation and/or maintenance experience, preferably in the heat treatment industry.
  • Experience with calibration, pyrometry, vacuum, thermal, and TUS is a plus.
