Field Service Technician

Job Description

Field Service Technician. Fully Remote • San Diego, CA • Field Service. The Field Service Technician role is a remote position servicing the Southern California Area, with travel up to 90% of the time. Candidates must have a home base within the LA Basin or San Diego.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify and resolve technical issues with heat treatment equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations.
• Document service jobs and potential warranty claims.
• Promote up-/cross-selling of heat treatment services.
• Identify and prepare necessary materials (tools, spare parts) for service.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers with existing service contracts.
• Plan and schedule service jobs in coordination with the HUB Lead.
• Record work hours and job assignments accurately.
• Submit expense reports for approval.
• Follow all Ipsen safety protocols and policies.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of the heat treatment industry and equipment maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer operations (MS Office, ERP, CRM).
• Professional appearance and positive representation of Ipsen.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Must live within the assigned HUB location or within 30 minutes of a HUB border.
• Valid driver’s license and required automobile insurance.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 5+ years of industrial equipment operation and/or maintenance experience, preferably in the heat treatment industry, or completion of intensive industry training.
• Experience with equipment calibration, pyrometry, vacuum, thermal, and TUS is a plus.
