Land Survey Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Land Survey Technician. Location: White Plains, NY. Langan is seeking a Land Survey Technician to join our team in White Plains, NY. This role involves supporting various land development projects, collecting field data, and assisting in the preparation of survey maps and CAD files. You'll work with commercial, retail, and residential properties within a technologically advanced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recover survey control and monumentation, and perform boundary, topographic, and utility surveys.
  • Conduct construction layout and photo documentation of the project area.
  • Support the survey crew in obtaining invert and subsurface utility information.
  • Work with drone and scanning technologies as needed.
  • Assist with CAD drafting, data download, deed and map research, and filing.
  • Maintain and repair survey equipment as needed.
  • Stay current on surveying practices, guidelines, and best management practices.
  • Attend training and lectures to expand knowledge and skills.
  • Recommend new approaches to improve efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  •  Entry-level to 2 years of related experience.
  •  Experience with survey instrumentation and data collectors.
  •  Excellent verbal communication skills.
  •  Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  •  Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  •  Willingness to work away from the office at various project sites.
  •  Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

  • Base Hourly Range: $29 - $33/hr. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, market conditions, education, and other factors. Overtime and annual bonus eligibility based on job performance and company profitability.
