Job Description

Job Title: Lead - Technical Group Module (B Crew/PM Shift). Location: New Iberia, LA, United States

Responsibilities:

• Supervise & lead shift engineering and maintenance teams to achieve safety, quality, throughput, and cost-efficiency goals;
• Monitor and control module processes to ensure uptime, adherence to process controls, and prompt issue resolution;
• Oversee daily assignments, production start-ups, shutdowns, & changeovers while maintaining high safety standards.
• Conduct troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and process monitoring activities effectively.
• Ensure team compliance with safety regulations, including LOTO procedures and hazardous energy controls.
• Use tools like 5-Why Analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to address performance issues.
• Lead training, development, and coaching of engineering & maintenance technicians;
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements & ensure smooth communication;
• Track and maintain compliance in maintenance systems like Maximo/CMMS and SAP.
• Manage hazardous waste disposal & ensure adherence to environmental policies.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • High school diploma/GED with 3+ years of supervisory experience & 2+ years technical work in manufacturing/maintenance OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of technical experience at First Solar; OR
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering (no prior experience required).
• Experience/Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, vacuum, thermal, and chemical systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, SPC, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, & data analysis tools (e.g., JMP).
  • Familiarity with asset management systems like Maximo/CMMS, SAP, or Oracle;
  • Effective leadership, organizational, and communication skills;
  • Competence with Microsoft Office tools & mobile system interfaces.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred).

Benefits & Instructions:

• Salary range: $78,600 - $112,000 annually.
• Up to 10% annual travel, with potential extended travel (60-80%) to training facilities if assigned to a new plant;
