Lead Analyst - Health and Safety

Job Description

Establishes, administers, and monitors company-wide standards and procedures in environmental health and safety (EHS) to minimize risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Specializes in environmental, occupational health, or safety, supporting higher levels of EHS performance and efficiency within Avangrid OpCos.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

Implement EHS Management System (ISO 14001 & 45001) requirements, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental policies and regulations.

Develop and implement local EHS risk reduction strategies in collaboration with operational teams.

Lead investigations and reporting of significant EHS incidents, including fatalities.

Conduct facility compliance audits for EHS regulations.

Ensure compliance with air pollution control, waste management, and other environmental regulations.

Track and plan improvements for environmental and safety performance.

Manage hazardous materials handling and disposal.

Prepare environmental permit applications and compliance reports.

Foster positive safety and environmental culture through leadership engagement and training.

Provide 24-hour emergency response support.

Support regulatory audits and inspections.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three years relevant experience, or equivalent.

Exceptional knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory codes (DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.).

EHS certifications preferred (CSP, CHMM, etc.).

Utility industry EHS regulations knowledge preferred.

Project management skills and ability to devise practical solutions.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and travel domestically up to 50%, with occasional international travel.
