Lead Commissioning Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Lead Commissioning Manager – Electrical Safety Specialist. Location: London/Glasgow, United Kingdom. Take a prominent role in the commissioning procedures of Offshore Wind Farm projects at Iberdrola. You’ll oversee electrical safety management, coordinate with project teams, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the commissioning team to ensure projects meet specifications & timelines.
• Implement and manage Iberdrola’s Offshore Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules.
• Monitor contractor compliance with electrical safety standards.
• Act as the primary contact for the Commissioning department in the Iberdrola Renewables Offshore Safety Rules Committee.
• Support the training & authorization process for operational staff (APs, SAPs, and Control Persons).
• Ensure proper communication & briefings for project safety committees.
• Provide technical support to ensure regulatory compliance of electrical designs.
• Deliver commissioning works in line with project quality & environmental processes.
• Review tender documents & prepare commissioning tests according to standards.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering & relevant operational or technical experience.
• Expert knowledge of Electrical Safety Rules, standards, and policies.
• Experience as a Senior Authorised Person or Control Engineer is preferred.
• Strong background in commissioning, construction, or design in renewables, especially offshore wind.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance applicable to construction/commissioning projects.
• Knowledge of design, maintenance, & commissioning of electrical equipment on transmission networks.
• Experience in developing Safety Rules and operational authorisation processes.
• Ability to travel internationally as required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
• Flexibility & adaptability to changing circumstances.
