Job Description

Position: Legal Counsel (Lead Specialist) for Offshore Transactions  

Location: Edinburgh (Scotland) or Warrington (UK)  

As Legal Counsel for Offshore Transactions, you'll play a critical role in supporting the sale, installation, and service of wind turbines in northern and central Europe. You'll handle all legal matters related to offshore transactions, ensuring Vestas' interests and commercial goals are protected.

Key Responsibilities:

Transaction Support: Assist offshore sales and service teams with acquiring and negotiating wind transactions.

Document Review: Analyze tender documents from international clients to identify legal and contractual risks.

Contract Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate turbine sales contracts and service agreements, primarily using FIDIC YB.

Advisor Oversight: Supervise external legal advisors.

Legal Support: Provide support to Contract and Project Management teams during transaction execution and occasionally to the Procurement team.

Optimization: Develop and refine templates, policies, and processes to enhance business operations and apply best practices.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 5 years as a transactional lawyer in the renewables sector, preferably with offshore wind experience.

Contracts Expertise: Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts.

Skills: Excellent drafting abilities and fluency in business and legal English.

Stress Management: Ability to manage complex contract structures under high pressure.

Communication: Strong skills in engaging with diverse stakeholders including commercial, technical, and management teams.
