Lead Solar Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Lead Solar Technician - USA (On-Site). As a **Lead Solar Technician**, you will oversee day-to-day operations at solar PV power plants, maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing AC/DC circuits, and other equipment like inverters, motors, and transformers. You'll lead up to 10 technicians, ensuring proactive maintenance and scheduling, while providing technical support and serving as a safety role model.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead & mentor a team of up to 10 Field Service Technicians, prioritizing daily work schedules & maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair various solar and electrical systems, including motors, inverters, and battery support systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and review schematics for complex technical issues.
• Facilitate training programs for technicians and ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
• Act as a liaison between the team and management, reporting plant performance and operational issues.
• Maintain safety standards, identify risks, and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector or  
• 3+ years related experience with an Associate's Degree/Technical Certification or  
• B.S. in Electrical/Technical with 6+ months of relevant experience.
• Supervisory experience, preferably as a lead or foreman.
• Proficient with electrical test equipment and industrial operations.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, SQL, and diagnostic tools.
• IR Certification Level 1 and ultrasound qualifications are a plus.
