Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Dual Ticket - 433A and 442A). Location: Toronto, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, maintain, repair, and install mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment at plant and pump stations.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machinery such as pumps, conveyors, belts, fans using hand tools and testing instruments.
• Follow safety legislation and procedures while performing work.
• Estimate time and material costs for electrical and mechanical projects;
• Requisition necessary supplies and materials approved by management.
• Install equipment as per engineering diagrams and verbal instructions;
• Provide feedback to team members to improve task completion and adherence to standards.
• Disassemble and repair machinery parts as needed.
• Lubricate, clean, and maintain machinery to ensure proper operation.
• Assist co-workers with issues related to task completion.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Industrial Maintenance Millwright or Electrician, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
• Valid 433A /426A Millwright Certificate or 442A/309A Electrician certificate.
• Dual License is an asset.
• Diploma in a related mechanical field;
• Knowledge of applicable safety legislation.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills;
• Ability to work in a team environment with flexibility in availability.
• Excellent communication skills.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced and physically demanding environment with repetitive tasks.
• Work site may involve exposure to dust and recycling odors.
• Requires own transportation.

Shifts:

• Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, with overtime.
• Shifts alternate every two weeks.
