Job Description

Job Opportunity: Deputy Manager – Environment & Forest

Location: Head Office Gurugram (with frequent site visits)

The Deputy Manager – Environment & Forest will oversee environmental and forest-related clearances for River Valley Projects, including Pumped Storage Projects. This role involves coordination with internal teams, managing environmental studies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Clearances: Manage environmental and forest clearances for River Valley Projects.
  • Consultant Management: Prepare Terms of Reference (ToR) for Environmental Clearance (EC) & Forest Clearance (FC) consultants, and assist in finalizing consultants.
  • Coordination: Work with Planning, Design, and Land teams to finalize project layouts.
  • Environmental Studies: Oversee various studies, including Environment Impact Assessments (EIA), Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) compliance, and pollution prevention frameworks.
  • Documentation: Prepare and file various environmental forms and reports, including ToR, EIA, Environmental Management Plan (EMP) reports, and public hearing presentations.
  • Impact Assessments: Conduct impact assessments for development projects, including noise and vibration modeling.
  • Reporting: Maintain project progress reports and monthly billing projections.
  • Project Management: Develop project concepts and manage workflow across multiple projects.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
  • Liaison: Coordinate with government departments for timely processing of environmental and forest applications.
  • Regulation Updates: Stay updated with MoEF&CC, SEIAA/SEAC notifications, and government guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Environmental Science, Biotechnology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental Clearance (EC), and Forest Clearance (FC) for water/hydro/infra projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, strong communication, and people management skills.
