Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking talented individuals to join our team and focus on developing wind turbine components that fulfill design criteria such as functionality, durability, and cost efficiency. This role involves conceptualizing mechanical components, producing detailed drawings, and leading technical discussions with internal teams and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

Develop wind turbine components meeting design criteria (functionality, durability, cost efficiency).

Conceptualize mechanical components and produce detailed drawings.

Implement design considerations for manufacturing, assembly, and servicing.

Lead technical discussions and evaluations with internal teams and subcontractors.

Define precise tolerances using GPS/GD&T methodologies.

Design various constructions including heavy fabrications, bolted, welded, forged, and casted structures.

Understand material selection, surface treatment, and their applications.

Conduct basic structural calculations and tolerance stack-up techniques.

Perform FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Risk Assessments.

Comprehend transportation requirements for wind turbine components.

Apply international safety and mechanical design standards.

Utilize NX for 3D and 2D design tasks.

Work with PLM (Teamcenter) and Engineering Change Management processes.

Qualifications and Skills

Graduate/Postgraduate in Mechanical Engineering.

8-15 years of experience, preferably in wind turbine, heavy engineering, or power sectors.

Experience in conceptualization, GD&T, DFMEA, and hand calculations.

Knowledge of technologies, structural designs, and leading/coordinating design projects.

Proficiency in NX and Teamcenter.

Understanding of manufacturing, servicing, and assembly issues.
