Monitoring & Control Room Specialist

Job Description

Job Title: Monitoring and Control Room Specialist. Location: Bangalore, India

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operation of the global monitoring room asset, ensuring real-time monitoring of renewable generation fleet, fostering real-time data sharing, events management, accessibility, visualization, and reporting.
  • Define guidelines and criteria for the operation of renewable monitoring and control rooms (at country and global levels), aimed at maximizing performance in terms of continuity of service, cost optimization, efficiency, and operational risk profile. Participate in relevant system projects and liaise with the GPG digital hub, O&M country units, and O&M renewable industrial control.
  • Define the control and monitoring strategy for new countries and facilitate the start-up and organization of renewable control rooms globally.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and support the implementation of improvement projects related to renewable control rooms and operational data gathering flow, liaising with the GPG digital hub, O&M country units, and O&M industrial control.
  • Monitor and assure the quality and completeness of the data processed by the renewable central monitoring systems, providing specialized assistance to solve extraordinary operational problems or issues related to systems integration. Liaise with the GPG digital hub and O&M country units.
  • Coordinate and support the shift lines of control room operators.
  • Act as an interface with global and local departments, even if not directly involved in the plant operation activities (OMI/MCROS, E&C, DH, TL wind and solar, etc.).
  • Carry out analyses and prepare reports as needed by internal customers inside EGP India.
  • Support the PI data quality assurance process.
  • Coordinate with EGP ICT and EGP O&M site operation team to ensure the connectivity of all the assets is in line and connected to the local control room.

  • Effectively communicate across all levels within the organization regarding complex technical and commercial issues.

What We Search in You:

  • Degree/Diploma in CS/IT/E&C with 5 to 7 years of experience in Renewable SCADA systems, O&M department.
  • Knowledge of OSI soft (PI vision, Power BI) will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic principles, termination, and testing equipment/techniques will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft OS, Server, and SQL, including administrative functionalities.
  • Knowledge of the analytical part of wind turbine behavior.
  • Added advantage: Knowledge in SAP -CS, PM, and MM module.
  • MSCE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) & Client server experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics applications and the ability to integrate with third-party devices.
